Think of @dYdX v4 like a futuristic stock market except instead of Wall Street brokers, everything is automated, transparent, and controlled by blockchain. No middlemen, no shady deals, just code enforcing the rules Why v4 is a Big Deal Previous versions of dYdX relied on some centralized parts (like order matching). But v4 flips the script; - Everything is on-chain (even the order book!). - Trades happen in milliseconds (thanks to Cosmos). - You don’t pay gas fees (like trading on Binance, but decentralized). It’s like upgrading from a bicycle to a self-driving Tesla same goal (getting you where you need to go), but way faster and sleeker. --------------------------------- How It Works (The Simple Version) 1. The Foundation: Cosmos = Speed Control - dYdX v4 is built on Cosmos, a blockchain designed for fast, customizable apps. - Uses CometBFT (think of it as a turbocharged engine) to settle trades in seconds. 2. The Order Book Lives on the Blockchain - Normally, order books are run by exchanges (like Coinbase). - In v4, every bid/ask is recorded on-chain no hidden manipulation. - Validators (network operators) match trades fairly and transparently. 3. Gasless Trading? Yes, Really. - Normally, DeFi trades cost gas (annoying!). - dYdX v4 flips the model: traders pay fees, not gas. - Feels like a CEX… but you control your funds the whole time. 4. Who Runs This Thing? Validators (like mini-exchange operators) process trades. - Stakers (people who lock $DYDX) earn fees and vote on upgrades. - You can participate just by trading or staking no Wall Street license needed. -------------------------------- Why This Matters - For Traders: Faster, cheaper, and just as smooth as centralized exchanges but without trusting a company. - For Crypto: Proves DeFi can compete with Wall Street on its own turf. - For Builders: Opens the door for new financial apps on a truly decentralized exchange. dYdX v4 isn’t just an upgrade it’s a blueprint for the future of trading. No banks, no brokers, just math and codemaking markets fairer for everyone.

'Between Silk and Cyanide' is about Britain's Special Operation Executive of WWII, which conducted sabotage operations in occupied Europe. The author, Leo Marks, became SOE's Codemaster at a very young age and the book is about the agents he met and briefed as well as the technical aspects of codemaking & codebreaking. I reviewed the book here: ricochet.com/1371313/book-re…

Everyone knows the story of Enigma and secret codebreaking in #WWII: the triumph of #BletchleyPark. Except that excellence in #codebreaking was nearly betrayed by incompetence in codemaking. Discover the full story in 'Enigma Traitors' - bit.ly/3tKkSTl

How long do you think it will be before someone comes up with an application for this? In codemaking? Computer programming? 🤓🤔

Alan Turing, who died before AIDS was even a thing? That's right, AIDS! Turns out in addition to wrecking Nazi codemaking efforts, he also invented the time machine. Maybe the British government shouldn't gave driven him to suicide under morality laws they later repealed anyway
