Just when I think I can’t be wowed by the next big thing happening on our UW campuses, partners like @UWStevensPoint and WIST remind us that innovation slows for no one. Their new Compostability Testing Laboratory will shape the future of what true sustainability can look like.

Can’t underplay the compostability benefits of phoenix, of course!

I see a lot of Bulk aligned accounts bear posting @PhoenixTrade. I think this is dumb. I understand the perceived saltiness & unfairness. "Why has Foundation pushed Phoenix over Bulk". Bulk aligned ppl probably think it's because Foundation is trying to save face from their massive grant and thus see a fundamental inequity in the world. It's not. I've seen firsthand both through talking with Foundation employees but more importantly through understanding the architectures intimately (for @ImperialPerps) while what Bulk has is Solana adjacent. They have built what I would call a faithful implementation of a Solana L2. Bulk prefers the term "sidecar network", but like how Solana calls it a "program"... it's a smart contract, what they have built is a Solana L2. I think this is bullish Bulk in the short term. I think they will have an order of magnitude advantage over Phoenix regarding speed of execution. This theoretically should mean makers are more willing to market make on Bulk and theoretically Bulk will have tighter spreads, deeper liquidity, etc. I think the jury is yet to be decided on reality however. I think Phoenix's decision to have their engine live natively on Solana lends itself to certain compostability benefits that haven't been talked about a ton (something like Imperial works much better with Phoenix over Bulk). Speaking strictly of taker flow (users) I think there is are UX benefits to the engine being native to the Solana L1. I'm excited for the "Perp Wars" as we call them. I think iron will sharpen iron here and I think a strong Bulk will mean a strong Phoenix and vice versa. This is fundamentally why I think it's bullish Bulk for Phoenix to be strong.

High praise, thank you! I need to immerse myself more in the philosophy of iii as my current way of thinking would overcomplicate the things iii simplify. The idea came to mind two days ago and the end “finish line” I have in mind is basically a self teaching layer that could self integrate in systems that have APIs. This PoC is the first step for an issue currently affecting the company I work for (cmdb asset integrity) but I wanted the first step to be OSS. They haven’t seen any of it yet so I wanted this out before they can reverse engineer the idea and commercialise it closed. The suggestion is appreciated. Once implement it will surely help with compostability/scaling etc. I feel iii is a gamechanger but it will take time for my thinking to be fully adapted to it. It’s awesome and I thank you!

Of course, hyperliquid can't do everything, variational for example can list a lot more things by using RFQ technology, RiseX has a complete compostability with EVM, Phoenix is using Prop AMM ect..

What's about compostability or settlement? Do you need decentralization for that as an L2? I think we should move on as an industry to stop thinking about this and build real product, like hyperliquid did with 8 validators

agree, this is a very difficult problem to solve. On the one hand heterogeneity of assets and their compostability help with activity. but on the other hand if this happens in the JPM chain, how does the benefit percolate across the ecosystem? that's exactly why i want to focus on tokenomics and validator economics

Who says researchers can’t build companies? 😀 @GoZerocircle had their biggest quarter yet in terms of revenue, and they're just getting started. Their Q3 had 5x previous quarter's revenue. For a seaweed-based biodegradable materials company replacing plastic in food packaging, that's not a small thing, even with a smaller base to start with. Also, - They completed a pilot with a premium coffee chain. They are now scaling to 200 physical stores across India with their coatings on the food boxes. - Their product was used at 5 food counters at @peakst8_club Festival, which had 3,000 people footfall. - Exhibited at international events like Horecava, Paperex, and the Utrecht Sustainability Summit. - Achieved water barrier performance in the lab. This is not as simple as it sounds. The barrier performance is why plastics get preference so yeah, it’s a big deal. - Granted the TÜV Austria home compostability certification -- one of the strictest compliances in the world to clear - 7 qualified partners globally, up from 4 last quarter. They are a materials science company building fossil-free alternatives from seaweed and plant science. But to transition from research to business development, and to reach customers through brands, it has been super cool to watch them. Exciting times ahead. ♥️ If you're in experiences, food, packaging, or sustainability, glad to connect you to the team at Zerocircle. They'd love to figure how they can get more Indian brands to avoid microplastics in food and beverages. Also they are hiring across Finance, Sales and HR. So if you're looking to make a difference and work with a cool team. Do reach out.

I got into it for the opposite reasons. Funny how that works. I view the money angle as a niche that simply comes with the impressive technical capabilities. Atomic compostability changes the definition of money to kas.

Kaspa is creating the sequencing layer of the internet. It provides real time decentralization/dissemination of data necessary for IRL communications/verifications. The programmability w/ nakamoto consensus, banking standardization & atomic compostability makes Kaspa the end game

I visited a beloved, family-owned coffee shop. The owner behind the counter handed me a cup proudly stamped: "100% Eco-Friendly." "Madam," I asked. "Please present the ISO 14040 Lifecycle Assessment verifying this claim. I also require the Certificate regarding the compostability of the liner." She looked confused. "It's just a paper cup, dear. We bought them at Aldi." "You are misleading the consumer with vague environmental emotionalism!" I reported the establishment to the Market Surveillance Authority before I finished my macchiato. The fines for "Unsubstantiated Green Claims" were significant. They could not afford the retroactive audit. The shop closed down. Better a bankrupt family than a misled consumer. 🇪🇺

For the degens asking "How do I max this?": The compostability is where the magic happens. Since eUSDC is a yield-bearing receipt token, you can use it as collateral. 1. Deposit Ember -> Get eUSDC. 2. Loop on @BluefinApp (Supply eUSDC -> Borrow USDC). 3. Redeposit. You are effectively leveraging a professional, risk-managed strategy.
