Replying to @lemire
Yeah - it was cool. Have you concidered going to C conference? At C Now I spent substantial time chatting with people about modern hash tables for example. Or there is CppNorth which is in Canada - it's not as nerdy as C Now but might be easier for you to get to.

Now that I've watched a few more minutes, I see somebody made the same comment as well. Maybe I should actually finish the whole talk first... 😊

While I'm leaving comments... for example #2. The comment from the audience about not needing drop was correct — there's no extra work here. Also using Boost.HOF we can get pretty nice, terse operators. Not always possible, but nice when it works out: godbolt.org/z/rEr81oe7W

Your colleagues suggested Python code is a 1-to-1 translation of the APL way. np.argsort is just a longer way of spelling the grade glyph ⍋

This is how a colleague suggested to do it in Python — where you'd write chars[np.argsort(nums)] Another C approach btw (godbolt.org/z/45feMP586)

I think at the time I was envisioning the Haskell comparison slide. But this solution is very elegant.

Just started watching this. Why not do the C solution the same way as the BQN one? godbolt.org/z/e3ez7bhxo
