My favorite more approachable price-point wine is actually Cuvaison. (Chardonnay & Pinots though) They are the oldest running privately/family-owned winery in Napa, and thus the quality for the price point is excellent. They also own Brandlin, which is a Mt. Veeder appellation(Red), Mt. Veeder being another one of my favorite terroirs.

Red wine of the week: Cuvaison: 2022 Estate Pinot Noir, CA. Notes of plum, strawberry and spice aromas are enhanced by flavors reminiscent of raspberry, cherry and subtle hints of anise. Medium bodied with a lasting but not overwhelming finish. $45
