The Orioles ended up taking Honeycutt three picks later, and The Draftnik kept saying that a smart GM like Mike Elias understood prospects better than David Stearns and that Stearns would live to regret the Benge selection. True story.

McLean had a grand total of 3.1 IP in professional baseball before Stearns was hired and AJ Ewing played 7 games in the complex league before Stearns was hired. Maybe Draftnik can tell us more on why Eppler overrode everyone for Houck over McGonigle.

I'm no draftnik but heard from a lot that without injury he prolly goes top 40/50 this year. Not sure how that compares to other years though. Excited to see what he can do and he doesn't need to rush it with Karras still playing well.

His comfort zone was such that he’d even ceded one of his selections to an obsessive draftnik who is fond of telling the GM, ā€œI’m one of your best scoutsā€... My @TheAthletic draft story on the @Ravens and their polarizing GM... (Free Link) nytimes.com/athletic/7232755…

What fuels anger by any fan base is very simple: Fans are conditioned to think that players' talents are determined by the order given them by 5 to 10 national draftniks. If your team rates a player much higher than a national draftnik did, you're conditioned to think it's a bad pick. Not all of you, but many of you. This has always been the case.
Cleveland had the alternate universe Dolphins draft with Concepcion, Denzel Boston, McNeil-Warren, Taylen Green... I'm hopeful on Miami's group. Needs were filled with players with appealing traits.. With the fraction of seething Fins fans I'm seeing, I never know how reflective that is of the general fan base. Perhaps just a small angry minority. It's really impossible to know.

Fans watch all the draft nonsense, believe the pundits that are feeding them, ie ( so and so should be drafted here or there), then when @raiders scouts draft a totally different person who actually fits the scheme we’re running, said draftnik gets all butt hurt. Look, we have done things your way for the last twenty years and look where it got us. We have an actual coach who has a system, let him pick what he and his scouts think is what they need for their vision and a system. Support our new players and the new coach.

@JeremyWGR Great podcast this morning with the Squad! The one thing I walk away with in the draft is that no matter Mel Kiper or every other draftnik thinks, teams draft players who fit their system. No matter what everybody rates them, each team picks players who fit their style

I can’t wait for the first Zavion Thomas kick return TD to be met with some draftnik fan bemoaning the team not having the 16th best DE in the draft instead.

Draftnik meltdowns are hilarious. Im just one of those silly fans who trusts the regime that has brought us back from the abyss. If that means trading back, im in.

Also, I was in on Kelce before any of you. Draftnik Femi didn't mess around. We were grinding the tape.

Said it before the draft, and still believe it today: Kelce>Ertz>Eifert

I’ve been a ā€œdraftnikā€ since 1987 and IMO this draft is purely meh especially after midway through the first round (for elite talent ) , talent pool just isn’t there , a lot of depth pieces and situational players ā€œhole fillersā€ but it’s still the NFL Draft so….LFG

Will, I remember when it was a weekday event 45 years ago, when I ditched school to go down and watch it on ESPN at the old Jack Murphy Stadium on some TVs, and ESPN interviewed me as a 12-year-old Draftnik, which blew my cover when I went back to school the next day.
