Enjoying the clips from the Your Party Conference. Reminds me of my days as a reluctant @ExeterGuild delegate to NUS Conference in the 1990s. Same utterly bonkers student politics energy.
On behalf of the Saudi community at Exeter, we sincerely thank the Student Guild for addressing recent concerns about anti-Islamic/immigrant rhetoric on campus. After a brief discussion between the representative of the Saudi Society Mazin Almas with Guild representatives, we felt reassured and much safer. Their support and commitment to inclusivity ensure that all students feel heard and valued.
Wishing them all the best.

This is definitely needed!👍
Amazing how some businesses (with a HUGE residential population within a 5/10/15 minute walk or bike ride from their premises) put too much emphasis on “BUT OUR CUSTOMERS NEED PARKING” 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🙄
That clearly wasn't taken today. The traffic on EWH disappeared after end of July & it became free flowing, pollution free road. Just like it was before August 2023 😉
We see 2 taxis stuck there. We can remember when delays to taxis was a crisis. Don't matter anymore it seems.
You're really grabbing at straws. I've lived in Heavitree my whole life.
You're right, there is a steady stream. And so when there is a traffic light, there is immediately a queue.
So you've proved why we need bus lanes 👍
Today at 1pm, constant flow of traffic, queue up East Wonford Road. These are outside the current times AND the proposed times. We need a much bolder extension.
When I take the bus, it's usually out of peak hours. Yet I always get stuck in car traffic. I have never used the bus lane on fore street (yes partly because of enforcement, but also because the current windows are far more narrow)
Not to mention COVID has changed travel patterns
Are you for real?
I was in Fore Street in Heavitree today midday. It was gridlocked with buses caught up in it.
Strict enforcement of bus lane, definitely needed, but so also are massively extended operating hours.
If lane extended by an hour each rush hour would make a difference. Outside those times Fore Street is generally free flowing. 7am-7pm is over the top and was not supported by around 71%.
What affects buses is a total lack of enforcement of the current restrictions.
Sending a warm welcome to new and returning students at the University of Exeter!
If you had been one of approx. 1,000 students back in 1956, this is what Streatham Campus would have looked like!
