Brad understands semiotics and exploited the value in 'expressionist' play acting by pretending to be a human shield and become a false moral signifier as if he had as much at stake as the migrants, both legal and otherwise who musta appear at 26 FP.

Jules Pascin Bulgarian, 1885–1930 Jules Pascin was an Expressionist painter, printmaker, and illustrator known for his gestural, fleetingly rendered nudes and portraits of women, such as Rebecca Couchée (1927) or Fillete Assise(1927-28). Immersed in the European avant-garde, Pascin’s delicate draftsmanship is evident in his drawings and prints, such as The Lever (1925) or Simone (1928). Works like Deux Danseuses du Chatelet (1926) feature the artist’s characteristic pale tones. Pascin met George Grosz in Vienna and engaged with Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, and Alfred Kubin while still a student. He worked as a cartoonist for the German satirical magazine Simplicissimus before moving to Paris in 1905, where he would eventually become known as the “Prince of Montparnasse” due to his extravagant parties and affiliations with local dancers. In 1913, Pascin exhibited at the legendary Armory Show in New York City. artsy.net/artist/jules-pasci… via @artsy
