Chio Ishikawa from WPower Fund spoke at our femcode collective Tokyo hackathon. WPower is Japan’s first VC fund focused on female founders. Run by MPower Partners. Backed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, MUFG, Mitsubishi Estate and Shionogi. She brought data from MPower x BCG’s January 2026 survey on female founders in Japan: 0.3% share of capital raised by female founders among Japan’s top 100 funded startups 0.4x valuation vs. male-founded peers at earliest stage 0.3x capital raised vs. male-founded peers at early stage 1.5x returns of female vs. male founders at IPO relative to capital raised Women get less capital with valuations and still outperform on returns.

Henna Knuuttila, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo, opened our femcode collective x Tokyo Design event by welcoming a full room of female builders and sharing where Finland-Japan relations stand right now. Here’s something what’s happening: In May 2026 Helsinki’s Mayor Sazonov was in Tokyo talking dual-use tech deals and defense startup collaboration with Nikkei Asia. A Team Finland business and innovation delegation visited Tokyo that same month. In February, Business Finland and Japan’s METI co-hosted a DeepTech forum in Helsinki. The Japanese Ambassador to Finland recently called this a period of “unprecedented closeness” in bilateral relations. Over 100 years of diplomatic history and it has never been tighter than right now! Finland’s startup ecosystem paired with Japan’s deep tech and capital access is not diplomatic small talk. Finnish scaleup IQM is already collaborating with Japan’s national research institute on quantum computing. 5G/6G, supercomputers, critical minerals all on the joint agenda. And both countries are tackling the same demographic challenge. Aging populations. Shrinking workforces. Sound familiar? A room full of women building tech products at the intersection of these two countries is the point! Time to build 🔥

is this femcode for "i'm too much of a slut and being punished for it"? if so, you are correct, but you have all the agency. men recognise when a woman knows how attractive she is and readily abuses it to reinforce her own sense of worth. stop playing chase me and grow up.

Sure I will do that. But having access to females without proper resources is just no fun. What is a good manual to start learning femCode?

When I bought my very sophisticated cheapest available DJ unit during Covid to become Good Enough in another random thing, I never expected anything else than forcing myself on friends’ birthday parties. But apparently there are already 3 gigs coming up for 2026 for DJ Lisbeth, one abroad. One pro DJ already tried to find me on SoundCloud but so far there is only me playing bass in various bands from Visual Kei to metalcore. Gotta get this together and put something there. Next gig at techno lan Femcode x Futurice in a month!

Had an interesting exchange in the comments today. Someone pointed out that prompting and AI workflows do not work for large marketing teams managing global websites with dozens of language versions. They need certainty on scale. Different tools for different needs. Certainty on scale is how you end up with a 50 person marketing team producing the same output as one person with AI. At some point that is not a tool choice. It is a competitive risk. I have taught almost 1000 non-technical women to prompt through femcode collective. They all learn it. Every single one. The barrier was never capability. It was the narrative that they are not technical enough. The "different tools for different needs" argument sounds reasonable until you realize the "different need" is just organizational resistance to change dressed up as pragmatism. Enterprise teams do not need Webflow or Contentful because they are complex. They are complex because they chose Webflow or Contentful.

I'm building an automated marketing layer across pretty much all my platforms right now. @yeetpost is wired in and I’m gradually improving user-facing marketing automations. Surprisingly easy to do at scale when you can copy-paste patterns across products. The current setup is still fairly manual. Changelog items live in Supabase. When I ship something, I ask Cursor to generate the SQL, add it to Supabase, then trigger Yeetpost via curl in the terminal. Not elegant, but it works. It already creates consistent activity and visibility across the apps’ social channels. Some platforms are a step ahead. femcode collective, for example, already has user-triggered automation where new events and projects are posted automatically to LinkedIn, and X is coming later. This isn’t the final system, but even this level of automation beats silence. Shipping something imperfect that actually posts is better than waiting for a perfect pipeline that never exists.

A small community automation update. You can now register on femcode dot dev and request WhatsApp access async, so no need to wait for an offline event to get the invite link. Current version notifies our community-head Viivi and she pulls you in. Another simple Resend automation that improves the whole flow without adding overhead.

One femcode collective member is about to launch her first B2C app and of course the stress hits. Consumer products are unforgiving because every mistake costs you directly. No enterprise buffer and no long sales cycle to hide behind. Upside is this. If you succeed in B2C even a little, you automatically operate at a UX level most B2B teams never reach. You learn to ship clean flows, fast feedback loops, and actual value people feel instantly. That makes you dangerous in the best way. It also gives you scale potential B2B rarely offers. If she pulls this off, she won’t just have an app. She’ll have a skillset most founders never develop because they never dare to build for consumers in the first place.
