The grip of Chagoury on Tinubu is mysterious. Although your analysis seems a little far-fetched, it appears not very far from the truth, whatever that may be.
But one thing is certain: IGP is a much better option than Wadada, using every metric.
Of all the states heading into 2027, the people I genuinely worry about the most are those in Nasarawa, especially if APC eventually settles for Senator Wadada as its governorship candidate.
Maybe I’m wrong, but from where I’m standing, the bigger picture is becoming harder to ignore.
We already have what many of us see as a Chagoury-backed influence at the top levels of power. We are already watching our government literally serving Chagoury’s interests at the top level. So imagine having another Chagoury puppet as Governor? It will be crazy for them.
Tinubu gifted Chagoury the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway contract worth almost 20 trillion.
Then came the rehabilitation of Apapa and Tin Can Ports, reportedly worth around $700 million.
There are also interests around Snake Island Port development and concessions.
Now, with all of that already on the table, imagine adding Nasarawa State to the equation, what kind of power does he have that they are now gifting him a state?
And this is where my concern comes from.
Nasarawa is not just another state. It is one of the most resource-rich states in Nigeria and has the largest lithium deposits in the country. At a time when the world is racing for critical minerals needed for batteries and technology, lithium is becoming one of the most valuable resources on earth.
I think by now it should be obvious why Chagoury wants his puppet as the Governor of Nasarawa state, Recent reports from 2025 stated that Australian mining executive Colin Ikin, through Atlantic Mining Techniques, was pursuing interests in the Kaduna lithium belt and that Atlantic was associated with allies of the influential Chagoury family, I read that report and I couldn’t help but ask questions.
Say what you want but I believe IG Adamu is the far better option for Nasarawa state than Senator Wadada, and clearly IG has more support of the ordinary people.
What if Kaduna was the original target and it didn’t work out as planned?
What if the next move is Nasarawa?
What if the real prize isn’t political power itself, but control of a state sitting on enormous lithium wealth?
If not, Why is Wadada clearly being forced on the people?
I’m not claiming to have proof of any grand plan. This is simply my interpretation of the political and economic interests that seem to be converging around strategic resources.
But if APC eventually presents Wadada as its candidate, I think many people in Nasarawa should pay very close attention, not just to the politics, but to who stands to benefit from the state’s mineral wealth in the years ahead.
And if history teaches us any in Nigeria is that powerful interest in Mineral breed serious insecurity, Zamfara, Kaduna, Plateau, Borno are case studies.
