Side note #1: Musk donated $288 million in the 2024 election to help elect President Donald Trump and other Republican candidates (The Washington Post); Musk is AKA "the country’s largest — and most prominent — donor." Musk's companies were built on government contracts, subsidies, and taxpayer-backed loans (I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, but just important to get the full picture). In other words, Musk is cozy with the U.S. government, to put it mildly. Side note #2: When it comes to giving money away, what do we know about Musk? As Forbes reported late in 2025, "...as was the case in 2023, the vast majority of his grants were doled out to entities he controls, according to the Musk Foundation’s latest tax filing, released Monday. And he’s still falling short of the yearly 5% minimum the IRS legally requires his foundation to give away." Side note #3: I agree that The Globe & Mail headline was lazy and dangerous, but I certainly don't look up to Elon Musk nor would I want my son to turn out like him (i.e., money can't buy good character, just Twitter, trillionaire status, and elections). @XfinitySupport We have been calling for the last 5 days about a safety concern with a cable wire down on our property. We have small children and this poses a hazard. We also have spotty internet and have tried speaking with multiple representatives and supervisors to get help. No one will come out and fix this issue.
