Mine is in word form, a poem from my book.
Midnight Ballet
It began with a stretch, a simple act
Arms stretched overhead
First one, then the other
The small of my back pressed flat
Legs extended, toes pointed
Wriggling in the decadent pull
I pulled taut, shrugged shoulders,
Circled neck, flexed hips
In sheer bliss
This undulating stretch
Like a whole body yawn
Unbidden, so open, infectious
I breathed, paused a beat
The moment turned transcendent
I felt myself lifted
Pulled dizzyingly into the air
By invisible strong arms
Held aloft, perfectly balanced
Outstretched, vulnerable
Toes perfectly pointed
The arch of my back
Arms artfully outstretched
Like a dancer in a midnight ballet
Partner, strong, silent, unseen
And in that moment, poised
I felt somehow beautiful
Delicate and strong
Hair pulled back taut
Face alit in wonder—
I gently settle again
Embraced in sleep
