A good observation. But go deeper. Activate higher planes of thinking.
The other day, I figured it out. Gamergate was to distract from What They Did To Us.
The Root Cause Analysis of "the right gives up and doesn't want to capture institutions and dominate culture or anything else and folds immediately at the slightest inconvenience"?
The REAL problem with the modern right?
It turns out it was video games all along.
An entire generation of men were PSYOPPED by one of the greatest video games in the world.
That game? Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings.
How you deal with and understand the world is through mental shortcuts, known in psychology as "schemas". Give a developing mind the wrong or faulty ones, activate some reward hormone at the same time, and you can keep someone trapped in a subconscious programming, a schemajail. Potentially for life.
With this in mind, let us examine what schemas AOE2 taught us about converting institutions, or not just burning them down:
-Monks cost 100 gold (expensive), are low HP and slow
-you need another 475 gold for redemption to convert buildings
-converting buildings takes ages, the convert time is variable
-the enemy might have researched heresy, which makes conversion moot
-THEREFORE, there's really no point converting the enemy buildings (institutions, infrastructure)
-therefore, monks (the cultured) are relegated to two purposes: to capture relics (memes, gemerald webms) and provide healing (slice of life anime clips)
-furthermore, there is basically NO gameplay advantage to converting universities, especially late game
-and further still, monks were more iconic in AOE1. Monk tech is certified "UncTech™", a gimmick that only oldheads can pull off every now and then with esoteric oldhead knowledge (hotkeys and micro)
And thusly, the right turns to one of:
-huskarl spam (impervious shock troops: large-scale, street-level direct action)
-spam trebby, longbow, castles and walls - (turtle defense, fire high damage memetic missiles, enemy outranged = trolling behind seven proxies, castles: chans, the 'grams, twitter, GCs)
-spam paladins - ( the RW personalities and other big dawgs). Unfortunately the right lacks the gold to spam this, but might see use in conjunction with micro'd hussars (fans and anons) to bait the enemy into favourable engagements
-hoping eight petards take out their castle and king. (lolno, the regicide game mode ended last century)
-only ever razing buildings, never even trying for a conversion.
If it's all too hard, or one lost a single unit? You're stuck in the doom loop now, so just resign, restart, or load save. (this is the "It's over"/blackpilled schema - a far greater psyop across various vidya that DESTROYS the will, persistence and tenacity in the face of adversity).
Need I say more. AOE2 is brilliant, but it glows so hard. That's why they re-released it. CIA Glowies used AOE2 to build a Gate in the Gamer mind, locking it in the fog of war. This prevented you from autopathing to victory. But now it's visible, and targetable. The fog of war has lifted. Free your mind.
You are beginning to remember, anon.
You are beginning to believe. It's time to wololo.
