Strong changes are disruptive. You cannot make a significant change by trying to be gentle. Locally and internationally accredited degrees are coming to @AltSchoolAfrica , and current and past students who have earned a diploma from us will be able to convert their diploma into a degree. In fact, if you have an ND or a previous degree, you can come and complete another degree with us within a short period of time. Learning will be driven by credits, in line with international standards, and not driven by time the way we used to know it. This is my contribution toward getting more people to learn and build on the continent. If thereโ€™s any way I can help you, let me know ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค. Talk to me.

lol. Nigeria is really an interesting country, theyโ€™ll force startups to use local infrastructures but this same Nigeria will go and pay foreign companies to provide services to Nigerians when there are local businesses offering the same thing at same quality and lower cost. Your government will go to Pluralsight and Udacity to sign Edtech deals as if there are no Edtech operating in Nigeria. When itโ€™s time for the government to spend money, theyโ€™ll spend it on flashy foreign companies without providing supports for local startups, but when itโ€™s time for startups to spend money, they want them to only spend it locally. All is well
BREAKING: The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed banks, fintech firms, and other payment service providers to store payment transaction data generated within the country on local servers from January 1, 2027, as part of new measures to strengthen oversight of the fast-growing digital payments ecosystem.

Has it ever occurred to you that people have both Igbo and Yoruba parents? And what do you mean by opportunities meant for Yoruba?
Attention: There hundreds of Ibos adding Yoruba names to their names to get admission, jobs and different opportunities meant for the Yoruba and lots of political appointees are looking away from this crime. This one is probably from Enugu. Azikwe also did the same thing. He gave all his children Yoruba names. I think that is the highest form of low self esteem.

Sometimes, the Edtech deals are funded by foreign donors who require the foreign platforms. Not contradicting your post, just adding some nuance to it.

Like they force Nigerians to eat local rice full of sand whilst buying foreign rice for themselves.
