Tank walked Frank Martin down and KO'd him, Shakur fought Santos on the back foot the entire fight, so obviously, there's gonna be more to criticize on Shakur's side. Both guys were fighting southpaws who had handspeed and power, and both Tank and Shakur are southpaws, that's the main point of comparison here.
Frank threw those same "3 punch combinations" and even landed some, but the difference Tank didn't step back from the center of the ring to the ropes and clinch. He utilized his active high guard and pushed forward while recognizing the patterns in Frank's offense, and gradually began to sneak well timed counters between Frank's punches. As the rounds went on, Frank was getting countered off of almost every punch he threw, and he was being pushed to the ropes by Tank, eventually leading to him being knocked out.
My problem with his breakdown is that it’s clearly not as objective as it seems, he mentioned the lack of ability from Shakur’s opponent in DLS multiple times, but never mentioned the lack of ability in Tank’s opponent, Frank Martin. Shakur was backing up because of 3 punch combinations and only having his lead hand meaning he could only fight from the outside, Frank in that fight was backing up just because of Tank’s presence. Notice how in Tank’s clip Frank was already by the ropes. DLS is also more physically imposing than Tank.
