altho Deme isn't formally diagnosed as ASD, ADHD and ASD tend to be comorbid and usually share a lot of the same symptoms (hyperfixations, monologuing, a brain that's always thinking, bursts of hyperfocus, stimming, etc.)
so there's a high chance she's also ASD but i didn't really use that as an argument because she doesn't have a formal DSM-5 diagnosis

I think in the 1990s and early 2000s this would have been a more compelling argument. By the 2020s, it's become clear that hyperfocus on quarterly earnings is a death sentence. In a world where AI augments human decision making, we're even less likely to be so shortsighted.

yeah, it was pretty great. i just wish i could stay in hyperfocus in this place, but it's just... tbh, i can't even get into it anymore, and it's absolutely miserable now.
