I invented a novel voting system that SOLVES conclusively, just about every form of dispute that we've seen arise in our current system.
It's very simple, easily understood by ALL people taking place in the contest, is fully tamper-proof, and it builds a PHYSICAL number that can only be incremented upward by registered eligible voters. That PHYSICAL number we generate at our PUBLIC POLLING PLACES (because this is a CONTEST, for PUBLIC office...) is then read and relayed by high tech that nobody understands.
What everyone DOES understand is that the numbers should all add up, and with each public polling place assigned a URL, people can see actual images of the voting devices.
In this new model, each political race is assigned an area within the polling place and voters are routed through ONE-WAY fashion. They may choose to skip political races for which they have no interest, but once they pass the entry point, they CANNOT go backwards if they change their mind. (Perhaps voters could carry a 'scorecard' to be marked by election judges upon issuance of a token, if an OPEN area layout is desired.)
Each "race" has a voting table administered by 1 Democrat and 1 Republican Election Judge in addition to an overhead camera watching and reading the devices. The DEVICES ARE MECHANICAL COUNTERS which accept a "Vote" token, then the voter turns a crank 1 revolution. The devices WILL NOT increment without a token being inserted. Cameras watch from above. Note that the entire system of number generation requires NO electricity and is the sum total of all the voters selecting a candidate who reside within the jurisdiction of the polling place. The voter DIRECTLY increments the number. NO OTHER voting system in existence allows a voter to SEE an actual incrementation of a number. ALL OTHER SYSTEMS have the voter make a choice on a paper ballot and then PROCEED ON FAITH. Ballots are nothing more than a DEGREE OF SEPARATION that need not be there! We should be directly counting PEOPLE who chose a candidate and NOT PIECES OF PAPER!
