I have to disagree. Tear at Full power vs full power malice??? Malice would get swept under the rug. Sure, all it took was abyss dweller. MALICE needs a clean setup to banish cards, chain effects, and swarm into Links. Tear can interrupt that process mid-combo, steal momentum, and build its own board at the same time.
One starter (Reinoheart, Havnis, or even an Ishizu trigger) snowballs into multiple mills, fusions, and plusses. With the full Ishizu engine Kitkallos (which mills 5 when sent to GY), Tear can effectively access or mill through huge portions of the deck extremely quickly. Milling gives Tear plusses (unlike many decks). It can “draw” or generate resources at a rate Maliss struggles to match, even with its banish-swarm engine.
Ishizu shufflers provide GY recursion that makes common counters like Called by the Grave much less effective (they self-banish for cost).
Strong going-second tools (Super Polymerization, Droplet, etc.).
Maliss boards are strong but more breakable compared to Tear’s interactive, advantage-generating mess. Tear also has an “infinite grind game” and extra deck flexibility.
I’m sorry. Malice has no chance.
