Freedmen Nation via it's legal arm (@realAFLF) is addressing the disrespect of the City of Morrow (morrowga.gov/). The official and historical colors of the Juneteenth Flag and related imagery are red, white and blue. The colors are not red, black and green. Juneteenth is not a Pan African holiday. It is a specific day of celebration for AMERICAN Freedmen. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day commemorates the emancipation of formerly enslaved American Freedmen in the United States. Changing the colors of an established ethnic flag or imagery related to an ethnic group is extremely disrespectful because it alters the flag's original design and meaning, thereby disrespecting the history, culture, and identity it represents. We at Freedmen Nation see it as a form of culture and flag desecration, which is a deliberate act of disrespect towards a symbol of pride or identity. American Freedmen have a long established history of not interfering with, disrespecting or coopting the flag, imagery or celebrations of other ethnic independence day celebrations. Freedmen demand respect for our Freedmen identity, history, culture and heritage. Contact the City of Morrow to demand an immediate end to their disrespect of Freedmen.
