At Knocksink Wood, Co, Wicklow this morning, a very overcast day however still plenty of flies around. A few highlights include Kowarzia bipunctata, Clinocera fontinalis, Chelifera flava/ trapezina and Platypeza consobrina plus more material to check under the microscope.

Our seed collection efforts continued in Knocksink Wood, Enniskerry last week! 🌰 Hazelnuts and Hawthorn berries were the focus of our efforts on the day, taking some seeds from as many trees as possible while still leaving plenty for the critters that call Knocksink home 🌳

A nice selection of uncommon flies from the Glencullen River situated in Knocksink Wood, Co Wicklow. Acanthocnema glaucescens (Scathophagidae), Wiedemannia insularis (Empididae) and Chelifera pectinicauda (Empididae). The latter is a new species for me.
