Random musing:
The government should have eliminated captured terrorists immediately. Keeping them alive in prison effectively turns them into bargaining chips, and that incentive structure fuels more kidnappings.
We keep seeing the same pattern, civilians, soldiers, even children are being abducted, followed by demands for prisoner releases. It’s a cycle that only makes sense if those detained remain valuable.
I understand the constitutional and human rights concerns this raises. But my hot take remains that once individuals are conclusively identified as terrorists, they should be removed from the equation as quickly as the law permits.
The risk of reprisals is real, but what worries me more is the cycle we are stuck in, abduct, demand swaps, kill abductee if refused, repeat.
