Ad blockers are not enough. You need to use Privacy Badger combined with NoScript. If you want webpages to be more or less functional.

Except that I use noscript and adblockers, so I'm not generating him any money. You, hypocrite, actively give him your (parents) money by paying for Twitter.

I'm a long term Firefox user, since it was called Mozilla, and use NoScript, PrivacyBadger, AdBlockPlus plugins, strict security and enhanced tracking. They all still seem to work. NoScript is probably the most useful, I just don't enable JavaScript for all the luser domains most websites typically have. Now, some sites get all bent out of shape if I don't let their garbage thru, throw up "You're using an Ad Blocker" like I'm supposed to feel guilty about it or something. I long ago made the decision that sites like that have nothing on them I need to see. I use Brave to log in to X on my desktop, and it more or less works ok, but scrolling down an X feed, it will sometimes lock up the whole screen, mouse, kbd frozen and I have to push the big red button on the box. Not funny.

Thread: 16 Ways to Bypass Authoritarian Government / Platform Restrictions (Stay safe, stay private. Knowledge is power.) 1. VPNs – Route your traffic through servers in freer jurisdictions. Paid, no-logs ones (Mullvad, Proton) are best. Change locations often. 2. Tor Browser – Onion routing for anonymity. Slow but effective for basic access. Combine with bridges if blocked. 3. Proxy servers / SOCKS5 – Lightweight alternatives to VPNs. Use with browsers or apps. 4. DNS over HTTPS (DoH) or DNS over TLS – Bypass ISP/gov DNS blocking. Set Cloudflare, Quad9, or NextDNS. 5. Encrypted DNS VPN combo – Layer your protections. Prevents leaks. 6. Virtual Machines or Sandboxed browsers – Run risky stuff isolated (Whonix, Tails OS on USB for max paranoia). 7. Alternative app stores / sideloading – F-Droid, Aurora Store, or direct APK for Android. iOS is harder (AltStore, TrollStore). 8. Browser fingerprint resistance – Use LibreWolf, Mull, or Brave with strict settings uBlock Origin NoScript. 9. Decentralized / federated platforms – Mastodon, Bluesky (with custom instances), Nostr, or Matrix for chat instead of big tech. 10. Age/ID spoofing tools – Some use virtual numbers (TextNow, Google Voice alternatives) or privacy-focused verification bypasses – but risky legally. 11. Mesh networks & offline-first – Briar, Session, or local WiFi mesh for comms when internet is throttled. 12. Obfuscated traffic – Tools like Shadowsocks, V2Ray, or Hysteria2 to make VPN traffic look like normal HTTPS. 13. Multiple layered accounts – Burner profiles, pseudonyms, and compartmentalization. Never link real ID. 14. Open-source forks – Modified clients for restricted apps (e.g. NewPipe for YouTube, Infinity for Reddit). 15. Satellite internet / Starlink alternatives – When local ISPs are controlled. (Check availability.) 16. Education & community – Teach others encryption (Signal, PGP), use dead drops or in-person networks as backup. The best bypass is resilience and awareness. Authoritarianism hates privacy tools, that's why they work. What would you add? #DigitalRights #Privacy

Yes, PR does indeed. A level of technical expertise that is beyond most people to the point that most people would not make that effort to avoid the easier option of just rolling over. Learning about privacy and tech is now a must for everyone, and unfortunately, most people have little idea just how profiled and surveilled everything, and everyone is. Good YouTube channels for a foray in to the world of privacy first technology: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL… youtube.com/results?search_q… At the very least, everyone should use a VPN, like Proton or Nord. This is just a basic now. Linux over Windows is better; Linux mint is a good starting point and will extend the life of any laptop to 10years. iOS, for normal people, is better than Google. At least Apple seem not to be as obsessed at profiling, as advertising is not their business (as it is for Google). Graphene is better for privacy, but is technically less easy to integrate in to your life. This is where real privacy starts to demand acceptance of not being at the cutting edge of convenience. Browsing: normal people should use Brave where possible, or Firefox with something like uBlock / Ghostery. Better - use noScript as well, but this starts to become more technically awkward. Best - the above browser separation. If you must use Google, keep in only in Chrome. Use the others for other things. There are many other things as well. Just a case of how seriously you value government and big tech companies not knowing everything about you.

Adding Google Tag Manager to WordPress is two snippets, and almost everyone places the second one wrong. The head script is easy: hook it onto wp_head. The part people fumble is the noscript iframe. That iframe has to go immediately after the opening <body> tag. Use wp_body_open (WordPress 5.2 ) and it lands exactly there, no theme edits. Store the container ID once in a constant instead of pasting it around, drop it in a must-use plugin, and you skip a whole GTM plugin. Full guide: techearl.com/wordpress-googl… #WordPress #PHP #GTM

14/ Emergency #7 fix: Rendering solutions: Immediate fix (if using framework): Next.js: Implement SSR (Server-Side Rendering). React: Add prerendering service. Vue: Enable Nuxt SSR. Quick workaround: html <!-- Render critical content in HTML --> <noscript> [Fallback content here] </noscript> Dynamic rendering: Serve different version to bots. (Not ideal long-term, but stops bleeding) Time to recovery: 1-2 weeks for re-crawling.

App Firefox browser, impostalo come browser predefinito. Aggiungi come estensione Ublock Origin, che ti leva i banner, e quando ti sentirai più smanettone anche NoScript, che ti blocca tutti gli script di java, così su ogni sito autorizzi solo la roba utile; ovviamente... ⬇️

Mullvad is a really good privacy browser IF you use a VPN. It’s based on TOR and uses NoScript. But instead of going through the TOR network the privacy comes from your VPN. It’s excellent against ads though. I also use Mullvad VPN which has additional ad blockers. 10/10
