I crocheted a lot before I got ill. Will pick it up again eventually. But current joy is lino cutting and linoprinting, and I have had so much fun doing this series of photocard sized prints for daughter to use as freebies at skz events! All used lino offcuts, so size is erratic.

My husband mentioned he wished he had a commemorative pipe for America’s 250th anniversary. That was all the excuse I needed. I pulled some beautiful maple offcuts from the violin shop (backs and neck stock), and went to work using the same scroll carving techniques and peg box hollowing methods I already know so well. Carved a proper American eagle with the “250” banner right on the bowl, finished the whole thing with pure beeswax, and gave it a clean black stem. I’m super excited about how this turned out — it feels like a real little masterpiece. It’s already smoking beautifully too.
