One of the clearest signss of the Holy Spirit at work in a child of God is an unshakable confidence in our salvation.
Whether our lives end thru natural death or even with our head on the guillotine….the moment we have eagerly awaited our entire lives for will finally arrive when we will meet our Lord and Savior face to face.
Perhaps we will fall on our faces before Him or He will embrace us and say “Well done good and faithful servant. You were faithful with what I gave u….now enter the joy of your Masters presence and I will make u overseer of many things.”
What a day to ponder… 🙏
Our confidence rests in Christ alone and in His finished work on the cross. The least we can offerr in return is our very lives in serving and following Him w all our heart, mind and soul.
This is why Romans 12:1-2 calls us to true worship not merely songs and praise but the complete laying down of our lives on the altar.
As priests in the new covenant we offer our bodies as living sacrifices in the outer court and minister to the Lord from the Holy Place.
In the tabernacle the outer court represents the human body where the daily sacrifices were offered on the bronze altar and cleansing took place at the laver which is a beautiful picture of daily washing by Gods Word.
The Holy Place represents the human soul (mind, will and emotions) and is where the priests ministered before the Lord w the altar of incense, the menorah and the table of showbread…..engaging all five senses in worship.
The Holy of Holies is where the Ark of the Covenant dwelt. This inner chamber of the tabernacle represents the human spirit and just as Gods presence filled the Holy of Holies the Holy Spirit now dwells in every regenerated believer.
Outer Court = Human Body
Holy Place = Human Soul
Holy of Holies = Human Spirit
Just as the priests in the OT offered a lamb twice a day on the altar we daily sacrifice our lives in surrender to Him.
Romans 12:1: “Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.”
A child of God is driven by the Holy Spirit and it is our love for Him that fuels our sanctification…..the lifelong journey of being transformed into the image of Christ.
Our servanthood is perfectly summed up by the apostle Paul who used this OT picture to describe his life as a complete sacrificial offering to God in being poured out like a drink offering before the Lord.
We fight the good fight of faith and give our lives to its work because it is worth it. It is worth every trial and tribulation that comes along with it.
Be encouraged Saints of God in ur sanctification and fight the good fight in the Lord Jesus Christ…..see u on the other side.🙏
