alot of $ for the hardware, but for 12 dsubs and patchbays too. worth? maybe... imo only if you utilize the insert system then it becomes a beast

I understand it’s insane that I have 240 patchbay points in my mixing room but if you have a DB25 patchbay laying around I’ll trade you for three TRS patchbays.

Haha in the 90’s and 00’s we used to take Polaroids of the nerdy engineers in the control room and the patchbays completely spaghetti’d with 1/8”patch cables and use the photocopier to do photoshops before photoshop so we could put them together and called it audio hunks weekly

This was kind of a dumb acquisition. I never could set it up how i imagined — it is simply too large. I’d need patchbays, so many cables, all kinds of extra stuff. I see now why the guy was giving it away. But for me it’s a rite of passage to have a stupid big old analog console

I did it. I fucking did it. Full modern digital synchronization with two digital patchbays from the 90s. 32 ADAT 16 AES/SPDIF 8 analog.

Is it the 80's again??!!
I'm making these classic db25 d sub connector cables today and it got me thinking bout patchbays!
Some of the higher end interfaces use these connections instead of 1/4" or XLR to send/receive 8 channels simultaneously on a cable
