We graze "properly". Which is why we chose to try and protect as much pasture as possible, roughly 50acre at moment, extending each year.
Housing a herd laden with residual disease could be catastrophic if not addressed.
A clear bTB test today. Longest period of clear testing for a decade.
All down to reducing residual disease and enhanced biosecurity.
Implementing learnings from @pembsproject.
Looking forward to getting the RiskRate data back and hopefully targeted auxiliary testing 👊💪
We've been looking at all of the above within the @pembsproject, 1 in 5 positive animals missed by gov interpretation of skin test, leaving huge amounts of residual disease. These diseased animals traded, bred from. Circle of doom. Start thinking of tb like johnes.
TB test reading today = Passed ✅️
Thanks to our @pembsproject plan, removing residual disease and enhanced biosecurity.
My vet and I have worked hard for this and we'll continue with our plan.
💪👊
Really glad we are part of the @pembsproject, turning bTB control on its head, changing mindset and taking control (even if those decisions are tough). Clarkson doesn't care about TB, its just all TV ratings for him, ching ching ££££
Iechyd Da had the pleasure of delivering the training for the North Wales TB Project that is modelled on the Pembrokeshire Project. Two days down with the 3rd day about to start. Giving back control of bovine tb to farmers & vets @pembsproject@CVOCymru@MenteraCymru@WGRural
Pleasure to welcome the Godfray Review team to the farm last week. Demonstrating our efforts as part of the @pembsproject.
Very interested in our approach to risk based data analysis, the biosecurity actions and ongoing plans.
Hopefully, influence policy to benefit all.
You and I know what clear means, getting our OTF status back is only the beginning, now the really hard work starts to drive out the remaining disease and keep it out and stay clear!
