country's never needed another Peterloo uprising more

A look at the Peterloo memorial and the statue of Pankhurst to round off an educational day of Manchester's social history. Then a pondering of why his messages might have gone down like a cup of cold sick.

Don't hold it against ordinary Brits it was usually the elite doing this. The elite massacred ordinary folk at Peterloo, Sent folk to Australia on penal ships, sold our children into white slavery.I am proud of being English but not of the elite.

A political judgement bought and paid for by the Israeli lobby, no different from dozens of other crooked political decisions masquerading as "the law". From #Peterloo to the #TaffVale case, from the #Zinoviev letter to #Grunwick. English law is too easily corrupted.

Only someone with fascist tendancies would give a sentence like that. He follows in the tradition of Judge Jeffries and other's such as at Tolpuddle, Peterloo, Newport, the Great Strike, Builders Lump Strike, Miner's strike & Wapping.

Saw "Peterloo" last night, and got that frisson from when you see history rhyming. The populace wants reform. The powerful don't. The powerful use spies, arrest their enemies, and weaponize a peaceful gathering to sic the law on innocents.

A pub literally named after a recruiting station when Britain was faced with invasion by Napoleon; and where a few years later injured working class Britons were treated after being viciously attacked by their treacherous rulers during the Peterloo Massacre.
