Nigerian dad of two reportedly passes away in his sleep in the U.K Kayode Ogunbodede, a Nigerian resident in the UK, reportedly d ed in his sleep in Swansea, Wales, on May 26, 2026. According to reports, A GoFundMe appeal launched by Olatunde Owoeye-Phoster said the father of two left behind his wife, a student, and two daughters aged six years and six months. The appeal described his d ath as sudden and heartbreaking for family members and the Nigerian community in the UK. Ogunbodede was a member of Elim City Church in Swansea and the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He was remembered as calm, supportive and always willing to help others. Funds raised from the campaign will support funeral costs, childcare and household expenses for the family. The appeal also noted that his wife is currently unemployed. At the time of filing this report, £480 had been raised out of the £18,000 target.

as far back as 2020, phoster and i already discussed this at the office in omole. how ‘activists’ posture for gigs. its really that simple. the root of it is money. “but lending a voice is good” yeah but media is dangerous and if you get the most likes and replies on your shit, money will come to you. knowing that, it puts it into perspective that even the people that don’t give an atom of crap will seize the opportunity to empower themselves with real life issues on here. i’ve seen people’s misfortune be farmed for engagements by people who do not give a crap. it borders on evil at the end of the day, who you are irl and what you practice is what’s telling. not the things you tweet. cuz people lie (echo that) the downside is that there are tons of impressionable ppl ready to grasp on to what they can cus we’re not exactly a well-educated demographic in the end of it all, remember that your attention is the currency of social media. and where you spend it is where the money goes. people will try to get you to spend it on them using all possible means. including validating your delusions.

Sept. 30/Oct. 1 Saint Gregory the Illuminator (Apostle to Armenia, Gregorios ho phoster, Gregory Lusavorich, Gregory of Armenia, Gregory the Enlightener, Gregory, Illuminator of Armenia, The Enlightener) 257 - 332 Patronage: Armenia Nardò, Italy . This apostolic man was a native of Greater Armenia, and by receiving his education at Cæsarea in Cappadocia, was there instructed in the Christian faith and baptized. He opened his heart to the lessons of eternal life with so great ardour as entirely to banish the love of the world and the concupiscence of the flesh. Having spent some years in the study of the science of salvation, and in the heroic exercise of all virtues, he was touched with a vehement desire of procuring the salvation of his countrymen. This important affair he long recommended to God by his most fervent prayers, and at length returned to Armenia, and there preached the faith of our crucified Redeemer. The zeal and heavenly spirit with which he was animated, and with which he proclaimed the great truths of eternal life, gave an irresistible force to his words; nor were miracles wanting to confirm the holy doctrine which he announced. The people flocked to him in great multitudes to receive the holy sacrament of regeneration, and to be directed in the paths of salvation. The anonymous life of our saint in Surius says, that he suffered much in this arduous employment; but that after some time Tiridates, the king of that country, embraced the faith. We are informed by Eusebius, that Maximin Daia, at that time Cæsar in the East, and a violent persecutor of the church, provoked at the wonderful progress which the faith made in Armenia, invaded that country; but was repulsed with confusion. This was the first war on account of religion mentioned in history. . Saint Gregory was consecrated bishop by Saint Leontius, bishop of Cæsarea in Cappadocia, and continued his labours in propagating the faith over all Armenia, and among many very barbarous nations near the Caspian sea, as far as Mount Caucasus. He was called to bliss before Constantine the Great became master of the East, the Greek Menologies say by martyrdom. An anonymous panegyric of this saint, published among the works of Saint Chrysostom, mentions several discourses full of heavenly wisdom to have been written by him; also an exposition of faith which he gave to the Armenians. The Abbe de Villefroi informs us, that this exposition of faith and twenty-three homilies of this glorious saint are preserved in an Armenian manuscript kept in the king’s library at Paris. See this saint’s life in Surius; the above-mentioned panegyrics; Le Brun sur les Liturgies; Lequien, Oriens Christian; Galanus, Hist. Armen. Narrat. de rebus Armen. by Combefis; and Moses Chorenensis, in his History of Armenia. This history was published at London in quarto in 1736, by William and by George Whiston, who maintain that the author lived in the fifth age; but they are certainly mistaken, for the work must be more modern. As to the life of Saint Gregory the Illuminator, attributed by some to Saint Chrysostom, it is apocryphal. See Stilting in vita Saint Chrysostom. . Eternal Father, I wish to honor St. Gregory the Illuminator, and I give Thee thanks for all the graces Thou hast bestowed upon him. I ask Thee to please increase grace in my soul through the merits of this saint, and I commit the end of my life to him by this special prayer, so that by virtue of Thy goodness and promise, St. Gregory the Illuminator might be my advocate and provide whatever is needed at that hour.
