Historical NFTs 2017 and earlier These NFTs were created by real artists, no AI and no pump-and-dump. Supply is very limited. CryptoPunks are from 2017, but many earlier historical collections exist that are mostly unknown, like Pixelmap (pixelmap.io/) from 2016.

CryptoPunks absolutely exploded in early 2020-2021 on the narrative of first ever nft on ethereum. And it's been the number 1 project in NFTs pretty much ever since. This spun off two main camps of profiteers: 1. The camp that copied the original idea completely - just making more and more versions of the same exact project, only done with ERC721 - think BAYC, Azuki, Doodles, Degods, Pudgy Penguins, and thousands more. 2. The camp that tried to convince people to buy other firsts on ethereum or other blockchains, mostly missing (or pretending to miss) key details on why the projects they were shilling were entirely unviable. What everyone forgot about were the actual OG best contracts on Ethereum. In my opinion, this has been a huge opportunity for those paying attention, but only like a few dozen people are. The short list is $WAAC and Etheria. The longer list is $WMC, $BTCE, PixelMap, Mooncats, Curio, Peperium. Will be obvious in hindsight.

Like, I love my mooncat, I love my pixelmap tile, I love my estate in Decentraland. I love my Sidhe timeless character in treeverse. I love my Nyan Cats, bullish on plenty others including many I don't own / may never be able to own. I love my nfts that went to $0 too

I'm at the point where I don't have a favorite NFT / collectible. It's a tie between quite a few. My favorite category is historical, then virtual land, then gaming. I like to integrate NFTs into other NFTs wherever possible, such as Decentraland or Pixelmap

GM my historical blockchain friends: • Curio Cards and Peperium are coins, not NFTs • You don't own a CryptoPunk avatar, just an ID number • EtherRocks do not have a rock JPEG attached to them • MoonCats art is not onchain • Etheria is the first generative NFT • There are no land types in Etheria. Also water does not exist. • Mistcoin is not the first ERC20, neither is anything else from 2015 • PixelMap is not a pixel art project, its just an image and link storage contract that you can own. There is no center or corner spots. • CryptoKitties contract can be essentially destroyed • RarePepes are not blockchain assets, and especially not bitcoin assets • TerraNullius is not an ownable NFT, get over it • ThousandEtherHomepage does not specify size, everyone owns the same "size" plot • Nobody owns a CryptoCat image, just an index and potentially a name Its been 5-6 years since these historical things got rediscovered and people are still obsessed with making incorrect statements about them. I got into Relics to escape the bad part of crypto to study truths of the blockchain. I have done that. I hope sometime in the future people are more accepting of the actuality of these assets rather than the misleading face value of them that they continuously use to cover up their disbelief for bag bias-ism.

Agree! Mooncats have strong value because their DNA is fully stored on-chain. Aside from land-based projects like Etheria and PixelMap, they are among the earliest examples of on-chain PFP-style art on Ethereum, making them historically and aesthetically significant 😍
