If it allows you to preload the game, it might be useful in this case as servers will likely crash for maybe multiple days when it launches.

Do it the day are night before That way, you get the preload and all the pre-order bonuses.

"I want it, and I want it paid for now", along with bonus goodies, and preload. Bad internet means preload makes me able to play the game at roughly the actual launch time.

There’s not real merit in doing it months in advance. I’ll preorder perhaps a couple of days before launch so I can preload it. I still get all the preorder bonuses too.

It's rare for me to pre-order, but if I do pre-order a PC game, it's simply so I can preload it. That way, I don't have to download 100GB when it releases.

GTA 6 preorders start June 25. Finally a real date to circle, but I’m still waiting on store pages before taking any price, edition, bonus, or preload details seriously.

That's a possibility, but retail copies will already be in the wild by then anyway, so people could already look through the disc. With a 100GB game I think they'll need to allow preload or some people will spend a full day downloading and installing it.
