🐄🐑🇬🇧 Brilliant to spend the day at the Royal Cheshire County Show with local Cheshire MPs @EstherMcVey1 and @AphraBrandreth - speaking to many farmers and those involved right across our rural economy. In my role as Shadow Farming Minister, it was good to take part in a Q&A session, discussing the current challenges our farmers are facing from increased cashflow pressures, to TB, bio security concerns and the roll out of the latest round of the Sustainable Farming Incentive. My message to those I spoke with - the status quo cannot continue. Food security must be at the heart of all government thinking. Farmers need clarity, consistency and certainty. It was brilliant to catch up with @Reaseheath College and to see the incredible work they are doing to support our next generation. Great to also visit the Cheshire Young Farmers and to meet this year’s Dairy Queens. Fantastic to catch up with Bidlea Dairy, one of this year's show sponsors, and see the work they are doing to help people better understand where their food comes from. As ever, the Royal Cheshire Show was a brilliant showcase for Cheshire agriculture and all those who work so hard to put food on our tables.
