I am not a Mormon but I have a friend who is. I've been to RootsTech 2xs.
I have found everyone I've interacted with to be extremely nice, helpful, and friendly. I was impressed with the family culture and families walking and interacting with one another. My friend is a wonderful, giving, generous person.
Quite honestly, if we look hard enough, we can find problems or issues with every religion over time.
Don't even start with Catholics and burning at the stake, crusades, and continual s*x abuse.
Puritans hated anyone not them and killed women who preached. One of my long ago grandmother's (Anne Marbury Hutchinson) was run out of the MA Bay Colony and accused of being a witch because she was a woman who preached and had a large following. They celebrated when she and her family were killed by Indians in Bronx, NY. They killed her friend.
We can go on and in about 1000s of years of Muslim violence, mysoginy, and child s*x abuse.
How many wars have been fought in the name of religion? How many atrocities committed?
If you look hard enough, you'll find what you're looking for.
