9/ Lock Screen Ads and Delays
If your lock screen background is set to Windows Spotlight, you are losing performance before you even type your password to log in.
Spotlight is constantly using your network data to fetch new high resolution wallpapers and interactive ad widgets. Sometimes your PC will literally freeze for a second while it tries to load a fun fact on the login screen. It makes waking your computer up from sleep feel incredibly clunky and unresponsive.
Fix the login screen: Go to Settings and then Personalization. Click on Lock screen. Change the Personalize your lock screen dropdown from Spotlight to either Picture or Slideshow. Make sure you uncheck the box that says Get fun facts, tips, and more on your lock screen.
