Today I was joined by the Mayor of @KougaMuni and our partners @SoftwareAG at Jeffreys Bay Comprehensive High School to announce the construction of a new cyber lab for learners, opening in early 2026. This forms part of our broader effort to close the digital divide by investing in digital infrastructure in under-resourced communities. This Cyberlab will ensure that learners in Kouga are equipped with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in the digital economy.

Nun droht bis Mitte 2026 die Streichung von rund 150 Arbeitsplätzen. Besonders betroffen sind die Bereiche Aris und Adabas & Natural, die in eigenständige Einheiten ausgegliedert wurden. My software company was headquartered here - Plaza America in Reston, Virginia, about 20 miles outside of DC. At the time I was there, these buildings had ZERO vacancy. This was a hot location. The US headquarters for SoftwareAG, NVR homes, and a number of other well known companies were also located here. The owners are now in deep trouble. 45% vacancy, CMBS debt in special servicing, with no principal paid down on $145M in loans and $20M in mez debt. The owners are heavily leveraged, with maturing debt and low occupancy, and are now forced to try to beg for time. NVR's lease is expiring next year, and Whole Foods is moving out. This is a terrible situation to be in. Debt will kill you kids. Beware.
