It 'seems to you' because you just showed up 5 minutes ago, believe Alberta independence must be a 'startup' and when you see different rallying points and clashes you think 'hey they havent even unified'. Its also worth noting Albertans do not have the 'collective' mentality you might have. We don't suppose a kind of 'Leader' announces the groupthink they we all march in solidarity like everything in life is a Union march. Albertans have a long history of this and the reasons why it's happening. These come from early complaints of weight in Parliament, (indeed the NWT was divided into Ab and Sask to prevent unified power) to overtaxation, obviously the transfer payments, the imbalance of senators .. and really, how those are appointed maybe more. The 'sugar maple', the arrogance of Laurentians, then the relentless need to stifle Alberta's wealth, pipelines and powers. Long list. We already discuss and know these things. You've shown up told "Albertans are ANGRY and emotional so you can go teach them some college boy lessons" and we must be having 'temper tantrums' etc. Drop that shit. look and listen before announcing your 'Feel-Thoughts' to the new thing you're learning about. Stop believing Albertans are 'union marchers' and realize we thrive on competative criticisms not unionizing. We win by many 'leaders' not following The Leader. and if you were sincerely interested you'd find a lot of reasoning (incl my channel) but 'X' does indeed tend to be the place for superficial blurts, the emotional retorts as it is for every cause. it's also where 'Stay in Canada' people have no reasons other than throwing their feces at us.

YES I am so happy reporters at @brooklynpaper, where I started out, are unionizing ✊🏻 @SchnepsUnion $30K as a full-time reporter wasn’t sustainable in 2019, and $45K ain’t now. This is why talent leaves to pursue other opportunities rather than stay & commit to local reporting.

I am a welder and let me say that I really appreciate unions moving into BS jobs, now I don’t have to fight unionizing so I don’t have to negotiate alongside the guy who hasn’t showered in 6 months and thinks you’re supposed to pee on the toilet seat

started a new job and made a joke about unionizing and they looked at me like i killed someone
it's so jarring starting a job and seeing how unradicalized everyone there is

Good on them for unionizing. I took a $22,000 salary at Brooklyn Paper in 2010 — a laughable income for NYC living, even back then — and it’s appalling that the floor hasn’t changed much in 16 years. There’s a reason local NY news coverage is paper thin…
"A Schneps employee making $40K makes $3,333/month before taxes; the cheapest health insurance plan costs $2,811 a month for an employee, spouse, & child. An employee could pay as little as $227/month but that plan carries a $7K deductible." hellgatenyc.com/schneps-edit…

I am proud to stand in solidarity with unionizing BAE Systems shipyard workers in Jacksonville, FL. Their campaign is more important than ever after the tragic preventable death of one of their coworkers, Anthony Elrod. BAE must respect their constitutional right to unionize.

"Employers squander about $1.7 billion dollars every year to try to keep workers from unionizing. Amazon, founded by one of the richest people in the world, dropped nearly $27 million on anti-union “advisers” last year alone. This is the high cost of #greed, the price employers pay to show who’s boss, even though it hurts them in the long run. I say this because studies show that union workers increase a company’s productivity. They know their jobs better than anyone else, and unions provide a platform for driving meaningful change." my opinion is that you shouldn’t be able to be a staffer unless you have prior on the ground unionizing experience. sbwu staffers were the worst when they didn’t do organizing prior.
