Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

I've seen the opposite too. Men who will never obey any authority but themselves, but somehow they expect their children to obey them to the uttermost. They model disrespect & rebellion while requiring total obedience. (See also: Mark Driscoll & Doug Wilson.)

“I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.” Psalm 2:7-9 KJV bible.com/bible/1/psa.2.7-9.…

ACTS 1:8 KJV But ye shall receive power, after that the HOLY SPIRIT is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto ME both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. ACTS 4:13 KJV Now when THEY saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that THEY were unlearned and ignorant men, THEY marvelled; and THEY took knowledge of THEM, that THEY had been with JESUS. Answer: Witnessing in the early church was not based on human status, education, or eloquence, but on the power of the HOLY SPIRIT and a living experience with JESUS. Peter and John spoke with boldness because they had been with CHRIST. Those who heard them were amazed, because they could see that ordinary men had been transformed by the presence and power of JESUS. Peter and John went on to declare, “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20, KJV). “They had been with JESUS” (Acts 4:13) and were compelled to share. The HOLY SPIRIT gave them boldness and a convincing power in their words. ACTS 4:20 KJV For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. Spend some time in prayer right now. Ask GOD for courage to share HIM with people HE puts in your life. Ask HIM for wisdom to know when to share and what to say. Read 1 John 4:7-11 and pray for this kind of love. 1 JOHN 4:7-11 KJV Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of GOD; and every one that loveth is born of GOD, and knoweth GOD. HE that loveth not knoweth not GOD; for GOD is love. In this was manifested the love of GOD toward us, because that GOD sent HIS only begotten SON into the world, that we might live through HIM. Herein is love, not that we loved GOD, but that HE loved us, and sent HIS SON to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if GOD so loved us, we ought also to love one another. PERSONAL RESPONSE I want my witness to come from the overflow of what GOD is doing in my life, not from fear, pressure, or performance. JESUS has all authority, and HE promises to be with me always. Therefore, I do not need to be eloquent or perfect in order to witness. I need to remain close to CHRIST, allow the HOLY SPIRIT to give me courage, and share with love what I have seen and heard of GOD’S goodness. 🙏 FINAL REFLECTION True witnessing begins with being with JESUS. The disciples were not powerful because of human education, but because the HOLY SPIRIT filled them and because they had walked with CHRIST. In the same way, our testimony becomes strong when it flows from a real relationship with GOD. We witness not because we are forced, but because we have seen HIS love, received HIS mercy, and cannot remain silent about HIS goodness. The world needs the everlasting gospel, and GOD calls each believer to share it with humility, courage, and love. @elonmusk
