Off the coast of Portugal - The WindFloat Atlantic project, located 20 km off the coast of Viana do Castelo, has three floating wind turbines in the Atlantic Ocean, operational since 2020. These turbines, with a total capacity of 25 MW, are mounted on semi-submersible floating platforms anchored to the seabed. Additionally, there is a 2 MW experimental floating wind turbine near the Aguçadoura Wave Farm in Póvoa de Varzim. These are physically installed and generating electricity in Portuguese waters.
