Since 1999, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been nominating and appointing people into critical positions: Deputy governor, House of Representatives candidates, State Assembly members, commissioners, DGs, SSA's.
Despite being out of office such as the 2007 elections, he holdup nomination of candidates within such ideology. Upon his return to office in 2011, he once again entrusted numerous individuals with key responsibilities, many of whom had limited political experience at the time of their appointments. The same pattern continued in subsequent electoral cycles, including 2015 and 2023.
Against this backdrop, it is surprising that the nomination of Hon. Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as deputy governorship candidate by Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has generated such controversy, as though he is neither a recognized member of the Kwankwasiyya movement nor qualified for the position.
Historically, Kwankwasiyyah has stood firmly behind its chosen candidates. In fact, when Abba Kabir Yusuf emerged as the governorship candidate in 2018, he faced significant resistance and skepticism from several influential figures within.Hala the movement remained united and ultimately validated that decision.
Many individuals currently occupying strategic positions in the present day government were once nominated or appointed without possessing the level of political exposure, administrative experience or public recognition that Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has today. It is therefore unfortunate that some beneficiaries of the same leadership style that helped build their political careers are now engaging in criticism, blackmail and unwarranted attacks against his nomination.
As 2027 approaches, Kwankwasiyya remains united, focused and unwavering. No amount of gaslighting, distractions or political noise will divert the movement from its mission. Victory is not merely a hope,it is a confidence firmly rooted in our unity, conviction and resolve.
