ICYMI: “It’s a slap in the face! - Cinzia Rossi. @adriandix and @Fraserhealth deny family’s wishes and written consent falsely citing privacy law. @BCInfoPrivacy & @bcfipa agree. Real reason? Legal concerns? Falsely hiding behind privacy as an excuse is cleaner. @GlobalBC@CKNW

The initial notice passed this off as vandalism. In truth the vandalism/damage is minimal and more an issue of people seeking shelter. District still wouldn’t do interviews passing it off as an “operational matter”. It’s a social responsibility. @GlobalOkanagan@GlobalBC

Health Comms at its finest. @Interior_Health transfers patients to other hospitals & temp closes ERs regularly due to staff shortages. “Last resort” = new normal. Ask for comment on action taken? Comms: no interviews unless matter is “critical to public safety” until after elxn.
This is what happens when health authorities lose autonomy and every media request goes to the ministry for vetting (arguably 100% political). Issues in the ER don’t pause for an election, neither should accountability to the public.
