Then after 25 years we have a 25 year old arena we need to renovate. It'll operate at a loss every year - if Grant Fuhr loses $600,000 a year and is comparatively tiny, how much will this lose? $800,000? $1,000,000?

What about the inevitable cost overruns? The city has little experience overseeing projects of this size. The province has tons of experience and contractors still exceed budgets regularly.
