More roots, less runoff. With recent rain, many properties are seeing standing water. Living roots help soil absorb water and reduce runoff. Farmers use cover crops; others can plant or naturalize. Soil Conservation Week is the perfect time to reach out at restoration@lsrca.on.ca

As the weather warms, it’s tempting to tidy the garden, but wait. Pollinators like bees and butterflies are still resting. Clearing too early can harm them. Hold off until temps are consistently above 10°C (50°F). A little patience helps your garden thrive. #LetThemBee
