I am now offering coaching for CS. I’ve been playing CS for over half my life, but it wasn’t until I was 27, after 5 years in the Air Force, that I really took it seriously. I’ve led teams both in the game and in real life, and while I wasn't the best player, learned how far mindset, discipline, and strategy can take you. I’ve always kept to myself, focusing on the game rather than connecting with the community. I want to change that and give back. So, as I’m stepping into this new chapter, I’m offering the first session free. If it resonates, we can discuss next steps, if not, thank you for the opportunity. What I can offer - Individual demo review - Implementing structure as it pertains to competition, both in and out of game - Team sessions (assessing your team's tactics, defaults, reviews of games, or helping solve interpersonal or intangible issues) Where I've been - Hand built and IGL'd teams to ECL PO - Competed internationally (achieved my childhood dream) DM me if you're interested.

To start, what jchancE did was unacceptable and foul behavior that should never be tolerated. I told him as much privately, and internally we agreed that he would be held accountable and seek help. I sincerely apologize to all parties involved, and I completely agree with the necessity to keep women safe in all spaces of society. To clarify, I never pressured you into anything. The first thing I asked both of you is if you were OK, and that I was really sorry that this happened. My intent was to support my teammate while also making it clear that his actions were wrong. At no point did I try to minimize what occurred or sweep it under the rug. As the leader, I take responsibility for what happens on my team. His behavior was unacceptable, and I want to be absolutely clear that nothing like this has ever been condoned, tolerated, or excused by me. I sincerely apologize to you and everyone involved in this situation, it's honestly terrible all around and there is no excuse. Anyone that knows me personally knows my intentions: I’ve always believed in building teams based on respect, accountability, and integrity, and I remain committed to upholding those values moving forward.
while i do not favor cancel culture, i do believe in holding people accountable for their actions. what happened this past weekend in knoxville for the fragadelphia event cannot be ignored and brushed under the rug. on saturday night, 20 others and myself witnessed and experienced aggressive and predatory behavior from jchance. what started out as “jokes” and inappropriate comments like “women are so r*tarded, they wear their tits out and expect us not to look” then escalated into controlling, aggressive and physical intimidation when i stepped in to check in on a friend. he verbally declared he was forcing his way home with someone who had just told him no. he then physically blocked me repeatedly from reaching and communicating with her, using his body to shove and push me while simultaneously pushing her the opposite direction so hard she was pushed into a picnic table and shoved to the ground. the following morning, 3 of his teammates (mainly MDS being the leader of the idea it seemed) approached her and i at the venue, not to simply check if we were okay, but to pressure us into staying silent. they minimized what happened, blamed alcohol/ what jchance has “been going through” and asked what it would take to not speak out. ^ this is what rape culture looks like in real time. it starts with comments insinuating women shouldn’t dress a certain way, escalates into unwanted touching, controlling behavior, ignoring boundaries, then gets excused as “he was drunk”. when we, as a society or specifically the CS community in this case, brush off these behaviors, they normalize them and create unsafe enviroments. our scene deserves better. women deserve safety at events. until jchance takes accountability and seeks real help he should not be trusted in spaces within our community. this isn’t about drama or cancellation, its truly about safety, accountability and refusing to normalize behaviors that put others at risk. we all have a responsibility to call out these behaviors and recognize them as early warning signs for rape culture.

These new changes to the VRS are poised to have a disastrous effect on the NA scene that stakeholders need to address: Essentially, the new Valve rule that tournament data will no longer count until the whole event is finished will massively affect the NA region as our sole significant Ranked event at the moment, ECL S49, will not conclude until after the invites for the Major/MRQ go out, leaving only qualifiers and two FRAG events as part of the dataset. The effect of this change can already be seen as multiple NA teams have crashed in the rankings or shot up when we compare HLTV's live version from the 23rd to Valve's Feb. 24th Update: * Marsborne: 24th -> 74th * Vagrants: 26th -> 47th * Bad News Capybaras: 38th -> 53rd * Alter Iron/SEG: 51st -> 39th Qualification to the Major couldn't and shouldn't be decided on qualifiers and two LAN events while excluding the region's most important event. A potential solution for HLTV/Valve is to classify longer-term LANs like ECL, Eagle Masters, and CCT separately from ongoing tournaments, otherwise the road to the Major in my mind is severely compromised. If they cannot do that, this change needs to be reverted. Retweets appreciated. cc: @StrikerHLTVorg @CounterStrike @HLTVorg @ESLCS

If you’re a competitor and feel nothing when you play, that’s a problem. Emotions—both good and bad—fuel performance, keep us hungry, and remind us why we play. They guide us toward success and keep us humble along the way. Don’t be dead inside. Playing the game is a privilege!

Still open for more coaching clients! Some testimonials I have received in the short time I've been coaching: "mds is the single greatest coach I have ever worked with. What truly sets him apart from the rest is that he is the complete package. His macro tips are phenomenal, he can help you improve your micro, but most importantly, he can help you develop into a winner—both mentally and in-game. He has single-handedly made me a better player and given me the mentality and technical ability needed to become a great player. Just a single hour-long session with him can completely change who you are as a player." "I am a player who has made main playoffs along with multiple lan wins/high placements. A one hour session with mds, demo reviewing/offline prac, was extremely beneficial in helping me understand my strengths and flaws, and how to capitalize on the former and fix the latter. I saw immediate improvement, dropping two consecutive 100 adr matches in ESEA-Main and generally playing the game with better fundamentals. Any player aiming to achieve greater heights in this game will benefit from a session with mds, rep!" "I’ve done two sessions with mds and both have been very enjoyable and insightful. Not only does he know CS mechanics very well he also understands the bigger picture and the psychology that goes into the game and is able to direct it in a clear and effective manner. My experience with mds has been great so far and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve at CS2." DM for details

Unfortunately due to unforeseen levels of demand and a packed personal schedule, I will not be able to offer the first session for free anymore. Anyone that already booked with me, the first session will still be free, as promised. Thank you for your understanding and thank you for the amount of interest!

I had the pleasure to play with John at LAN for the first time back in October. This is where I was able to pick his brain about CS on a high level and about my career. His leadership skills are exceptional, and his ability to break things down and explain them is truly one of a kind. On a personal note he has helped me realize my true value as a player and during those couple of days introduced me to some amazing people and has made me alter my perception about CS in many ways... Those few days completely transformed my CS career, and I highly recommend anyone looking for coaching to seek out John.

What brings me genuine joy is helping people realize the potential they have inside them. In 2015 I was 22 years old stationed in Incirlik, Turkey. There was a coup happening and I was tasked with putting up 1000 marines overnight and handling all their living arrangements. I was overwhelmed and had no idea what I was going to do. But then my supervisor at the time, a great mentor for me, told me that if there was anyone that could do it, it was me. That night I learned something about myself, something we all have inside of us. That we can achieve anything we set our minds to, and sometimes we just need someone to remind us.
