Most artists I know don't want to back themselves into a corner with identity politics. The opposite. But the forces of capture & marketisation are very strong. It's going to take massive collective effort to keep insisting on art as a space for questions, openness & plasticity.

Freelance Panic:
Just had my entire income for January cancelled (again). The people calling to cancel also in a state of crisis and with no mechanism to protect freelance staff in anyway other than rescheduling.
Survival is ugly.

Let’s be clear on the “borders bill”. It can strip ANYONE with the POTENTIAL of two passports of British citizenship with no right of appeal and no notice. It also criminalises anyone trying to RESCUE refugees from dying in the channel. Priti Patel cheered its passing. Pure evil.

Why is everyone worried about no one wanting to hire the RK dancers again? I respect these dancers more and would in fact prefer to hire them. I have huge respect for them. It takes a lot to stand up to bullying when you are a freelancer in a big org.
