City of Norfolk offices, libraries, recreation centers, Norfolk Courthouse, Commissioner of the Revenue, City Treasurer and Norfolk Animal Care Center will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Libraries and recreation centers with regular Saturday business hours, and NACC, will reopen on Saturday, June 20. All other City offices will reopen at regular business hours on Monday, June 22. Waste and recycling will be collected as scheduled on Friday, June 19. 🚮♻️ Requests for bulk waste collection for Friday, June 19 must be submitted by 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 18. The Norfolk Fitness & Wellness Center is progressing! Since the last update, we can now see the outdoor sitting and play areas, surrounded by open field. Tennis and pickleball courts will be installed just east of the play areas. Looking north you can see the gymnasium and natatorium coming together, complete with lazy river and the pool — before the roof is installed. Towards the south, we can view the roof of the brand new library and the parking beyond it. Which of these are you most excited about?
