Today, I had the opportunity to sit down with a group of our elementary principals for one of our small group sessions, and I’m grateful for the honest dialogue and thoughtful perspectives they shared. These moments matter because they help ensure our decisions are grounded in the real experiences of our campuses. Our principals are on the front lines every day, leading with heart, supporting students, and guiding their teams through both opportunities and challenges. Last week, I had the opportunity to connect with our high school principals, and this week, I’m continuing those important conversations with some elementary campus leaders. This afternoon, I had the opportunity to spend time with some of the very best educators in Fort Bend ISD during our first Teacher Forum meeting of 2026. Hearing directly from our Teachers of the Year, past and present, is essential to the work we do as a district. Their feedback, insights, and lived classroom experiences help guide our decisions and strengthen how we serve students, staff, and families. Thank you to our Teacher Forum Leadership Council and district teams for creating meaningful dialogue, and to our teachers for continuing to level up and #LeadThePAC.

I loved the football theme of this morning’s FBISD Leadership Town Hall. With leaders sporting football jerseys and team colors, it was a meaningful opportunity to connect, reflect, and focus on the work ahead. I was honored to recognize Impact Leaders from across the district and present game balls to those who consistently go above and beyond in service to our students, staff, and community. Their leadership reflects the teamwork and commitment that make a difference every day. Had a great Student Voices conversation today with some of our high school seniors. We talked about decision-making, leadership, and the responsibility that comes with both. One reminder stood out: leadership isn’t defined by age, it’s defined by character, courage, and the choices you make every day. There is nothing like empowering our student leaders to greatness. Today our Student Voice Advisory Network received copies of CliftonStrengths for Students and completed their CliftonStrengths assessments. Watching our students recognize their unique strengths and envision how those talents will shape their leadership on campus and in their futures was a powerful reminder of their limitless potential.
