I'm proud to recognize March as National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and I'd like to take this moment to commend the achievements of the millions of individuals and families across the country -- and the tens of thousands in the 27th District -- who have overcome the challenges of developmental disabilities to become productive and valued contributors to our national community.
I am also well aware of the profoundly important role that Medicaid-funded services have played in helping people to achieve high levels of independence, employment and full participation in community life. I applaud these accomplishments and I intend to work alongside you to oppose actions that would undermine your rights to the assistance you need to live full and rewarding lives.
