Under outreach for export promotion initiative of Department of Commerce, Government of India, Ms. Kapil Chaudhary, Joint Secretary visited Guwahati and Barpeta, an aspirational district of Assam with potential for exports of bell metal and other plantation products on June 8-9, 2026. Ms. Chaudhary had extensive interactions with the representative of industry, Bell Metal cluster, cane and bamboo, fireworks, and farm produce organisations and industry chambers like ICC.
She also interacted with the State Government officials and media. During interactions Ms. Chaudhary highlighted the features of recently concluded FTAs and other initiatives of Government of India for extending support to the industry for facilitating and promoting exports to make India ‘AtmaNirbhar’ and to realise the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Additional Secretary & Director General Trade Remedies Shri Amitabh Kumar recently highlighted the role of the Trade Defence Wing in supporting Indian exporters in global markets and addressing challenges in a competitive trade environment.
