National Audit Office: No. of buildings with unsafe cladding increasing faster than those with works completed ❌
MHCLG's latest report: 1,392 buildings with fully replaced flammable cladding (Aug 2024). A far cry from the MHCLG’s estimate of up to 12,000 needing repairs.
We've continuously raised concerns slow progress of remediation of flammable cladding.
We don't think it's fair residents face high service charges with an inability to sell their home due to the cladding present in their building.
Stronger measures needed to prevent buildings from being remediated to a poor standard, increase the scope of buildings covered to those under 11 metres, and make sure more leaseholders are qualified for protections from paying for remediation costs. #leasehold#cladding
The Bank of England has cut interest rates to 4.75%, in a widely expected move. It marks the second reduction in the base rate this year - it came down from 5.25% to 5% in August.
