Too many people are cut off from nature because local paths are missing, blocked or unusable.
It's no accident. It's down to years of political & financial neglect.
We’re fighting back with our #AccessDenied campaign & we need your help!

The UK government has just announced the Mersey Valley Way as the first of 9 river walks.
Will it open up new paths and opportunities in the northwest, or is it just an existing walk with some improvements and a new name?
We’ll be watching closely to see what comes next.
ALT A scenic river background with trees, with text from a quote overlayed that says "Today’s announcement of a new river walk, the Mersey Valley Way, is a step in the right direction, but the devil will be in the detail. We desperately need better access to nature in England, and this access needs to be permanent and legally secure. Anything short of that solidifies fears that the government is not taking this issue seriously". The quote is by Jack Cornish, Director of England at the Ramblers.

Sunday is a pretty big anniversary* in the fight for the public’s right to enjoy the countryside...
Which has got us thinking about how previous Labour governments have consistently improved the public’s access to nature... 🧵
ALT Text overlay over a misty moorland background, posing the question: Will this be the first Labour government since the 1940s to fail the public on access to nature?
SHARE this if you agree that the UK government should stand by its promise to improve access to nature. For EVERYONE.
