For years, I’ve pushed the MTA to make subway and LIRR stations in my district more accessible—and they’re delivering. We brought elevators to Flushing, Murray Hill, and Woodside stations, and I secured $7M for accessibility upgrades at Forest Hills. Now elevators are coming to the Rego Park subway and the Grand Avenue-Newtown station in Elmhurst. Queens deserves accessible transit, and I’m proud to help make it happen.

Just weeks ago, I pushed Secretary Rubio to rule out deporting people to conflict zones. Since then, we’ve learned ICE sent women who fled Afghanistan, Syria, and even Iran to the Central African Republic—a conflict zone country. Days after the GOP gave ICE another $70 billion with no guardrails.
This is unacceptable. The Administration must end this cruelty.

Great meeting with @LCVoters on Capitol Hill this week. As the Trump Administration rolls back affordable clean energy, utility bills keep rising for families nationwide.
I’m pushing legislation to cut cost by supporting households, restoring clean energy tax credits, removing barriers to renewable energy projects, stopping excessive rate hikes, and more.
Republicans should join us before prices climb even higher.

While I was in Washington, my team was on hand in Rego Park with local residents who are seeking safety improvements at the intersection of Fleet Street and Alderton Street. The safety of our neighborhoods must always be a top priority.
Queens Community Board 6 was proud to stand with neighbors, parents, children and elected officials offices today at Fleet Street and Alderton Street to call on NYC DOT to implement safety improvements at the intersection.

Republicans passed a reconciliation bill that wrote a blank check for ICE and CBP for the next two years, removing long-standing safeguards like bans on shackling pregnant women and protections for people who experience sexual assault in custody.
Democrats are fighting to hold ICE agents to the same standards that all local and state law enforcement are already held to, but our colleagues across the aisle have abandoned even the most basic oversight.
