Max McCormick has announced his retirement from professional hockey.
From De Pere, Wisconsin, Max played a single season of junior hockey with the USHL’s Sioux City Muskateers in 2010-11 before being selected by the Ottawa
@Senators in the 2011
@NHL Entry Draft.
Max played three years of college hockey with Ohio State before joining the Senators organization and playing with Ottawa’s affiliate club Binghamton for the 2014-15 season. Max made his NHL debut the following year on October 24, 2015 and scored his first career NHL goal in his tenth career game on January 7, 2016.
After parts of four seasons with the Senators organization, Max joined the Colorado Avalanche organization in February 2019, playing the remainder of the 2018-19 season with the Avalanche’s affiliate club, the Colorado Eagles.
Max later spent two seasons with the
@Canes organization from 2019-21, before joining the
@SeattleKraken in September 2021. As a member of Seattle’s affiliate club, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Max was named the first captain in Firebirds’ history and served in the role in each of his four seasons with the club.
